                                1.) Hypothyroidism- levels of thyroid hormones are too low
                                2.) Hyperthyroidism- levels of thyroid hormones are too high

When the level of thyroid hormones is too low, the thyroid hormone imbalance is known as hypothyroidism. When the body produces an excessive amount of the thyroid hormone, the condition is referred to as hyperthyroidism. Low levels of thyroid hormones (hypothyroidism) are more common than excessively high levels (hyperthyroidism).
